Summer is Messy
A short poem
Summer is messy,
You know what I mean.
Full of entanglements,
Yet sunny and green.
The hotter the weather,
The more active we are.
BBQs, parties
And road trips afar.
Laying on beaches,
Lotion slapped on our backs.
And as we get older,
The clearer are our cracks.
Sewers start stinking,
And insects drop in our food.
As we eat outside then
Skinny dip and act crude.
Late night parties
Fill gardens with drunks.
Wildlife comes calling,
Thought not usually skunks.
Salads are brimming
In bowls of fine glass.
Teenagers roll around
In the freshly cut grass.
People are tiring
Of the moist, sweaty days.
Yet we all worship summer
Like a trendy new craze.

more than solid, really entertaining
I love a poem, nice job with the rhyming.
